Car theft suspect injured in crash following pursuit According to a spokesperson with the Loudon Police Department, Cory Lee Braden was treated and released from Fort Loudoun Hospital after he led two officers on a two mile chase Tuesday night. Police say a BOLO was issued for a stolen car from Roane County around 11:25 p.m. A Loudon Police Department officer later saw a car matching the stolen vehicle's description on Highway 11. Police say the officer ran the car's tag confirming it was the stolen vehicle. When the officer tried to stop the driver, the suspect continued driving. A second officer joined in what was a two mile pursuit ending with the fleeing car crashing at Grimes Road and Greene Drive. A Tennessee Highway Patrol dispatcher says a trooper was called to the scene of the crash around 11:50 p.m. Both agencies say only Braden was injured. He was treated and released for what the police said were minor injuries. Braden was charged with evading arrest, reckless driving, DUI 1st offense, and theft over a $1,000. |
