Bus Runs Aground
| Loudon County bus driver, Clarence Woods, took what
may have been the ride of his life Monday afternoon. Woods driving bus
26, rounding a curve on Muddy Creek Road was met by a small Chevrolet
car that had crossed the center line and was about to strike the bus
head on. To avoid the car, Woods swerved, ending up going in the ditch
then up a steep embankment. Fortunately, Woods was able to keep the bus
from rolling over. Woods was shaken up but unhurt. No children were on
the bus. The car struck the rear of the bus but fled the scene.
The bus sustained heavy damage. Local law enforcement are looking for the hit and run driver. |
