The Big Game

A couple of weeks ago, I told you about our memorabilia room, junk room, where I had lots of old news papers. For years, I've been wanting to get all those papers organized. I'm working on it now. The ones that interest me the most are our local papers. I really enjoy reading the old stories.

From time to time, when I find a good story, I'm going to post them. I think others might enjoy those stories.

Below is the first one. From the 1936 Lenoir City News. It's all about the big upcoming football game between Lenoir City and Loudon. This was long before it had been titled The battle Of The Bridge. To be fair, the bridge was fairly new and the ferry was still in operation. Pay close attention to the names of the two teams. Unfortunately, I haven't found a paper with the results of the game.
