Bids, Round 2
| The second round of bids on the Phase 1 school
building program have been opened. A host of bidders were in attendance
at Tuesday's opening. Contractors were bidding on ten different bid
packages, two for the new Loudon middle school and eight for the
Greenback school. The low bids for site excavation and asphalt for the Loudon school came in at a little less than 1.6 million dollars. The second round of bids for Greenback for concrete, masonry, steel, roofing, windows, water, plumbing, HVAC and electrical came in under 14.5 million dollars. More bids on both projects will be forthcoming in the near future. Thus far, bids have stayed near or under cost projections. |
