Bad Timing, Good Timing

That just depends on which side of the law you're on. For the man coming out of the back door at Matlock Tire Service at 12:30 am Monday morning it was real bad timing. For Lenoir City Police officer Mike Hodges who was on routine patrol checking businesses along Hwy. 321, it was real good timing.

The subject, Shane Hawkins, was found coming out the back door of the business just as Hodges drove up to check the back doors. When confronted by the officer, Hawkins stated that he was an employee of the business. From that point, his story took several different changes. Hodges not buying the story arrested Hawkins for attempted burglary.

Loudon County Sheriff's Department officers assisted LCPD with a K9 search of the building to be sure there were no other subjects in the building.

No video available due to excessive profanity by the subject.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
