Backward County
Low Achieving School District

Alan K Sefton

Likely, many of you in the 5th and 6th districts received a letter from a man named Alan K Sefton. The lengthy letter ultimately ended with an endorsement for Mark Matlock and Eddie Simpson.

Let me introduce you to Alan Sefton. Mr. Sefton is from England. He is a multi, multi millionaire, land owner and part time developer. He owns nearly 400 acres on Northshore Drive and the surrounding area just before the Knox County line, in the sixth district. He currently has a 105 acres of property on Northshore Drive for sale for $6,500,000.00.  Here's the listing details.

Just across the Knox County line into Loudon County lies this exquisite large gently rolling former equestrian / cattle farm. Board fence lines Northshore Drive and cross fences separate beautiful grass pastures broken up by mature wooded trees. In addition to convenience and pleasing land, this farm also has a 5000+ sq ft 4 bedroom house, 26 stall barn and addition hay barn/equipment shed and a large pond. With lots of road frontage, gravity sewer on site, and large lot neighbors, it is a rare and peaceful piece of East Tennessee to own. Also has development potential if that interests.

Mr. Sefton is very upset that Loudon County has capped the residential density at two homes per acre. He wants a much higher density believing he could more easily sale his property for the big money.

Once again, we have a special interest developer looking to make money who supports the candidates who have promised if elected, they will open the flood gates to development in Loudon County.

The best part of his letter is just before he endorses Mark Matlock and Eddie Simpson, he says, "My wife and I regret our investment in this backward county".

I think I can speak for many of us by saying, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

If you're as offended by Mr. Sefton's letter as I am, feel free to drop him a return letter.

Once again, here's another example of what this election is all about, the all mighty dollar. I will again encourage everyone who is opposed to the sale out of Loudon County to get out and vote. You can be opposed it all day but if you don't vote against it, it doesn't help.

If you live in the 5th district, Vote For van Shaver. If you live in the 6th district, Vote For Adam Waller to preserve loudon County.

He just doesn't seem to like anything about Loudon County.
Loudon County is the fastest growing county east of Nashville.
