AVAILABILITY SESSION
For Lenoir City Car Works

An availability session is planned for February 1, 2007 from 4 to 7
p.m. to discuss the proposed Remedial Action Plan for the former
Lenoir City Car Works site.  Employees of Tennessee Department of Environment
and Conservation (TDEC) and Environmental Risk Solutions will be
available to discuss the plan with interested citizens.

The former Lenoir Car Works consists of about 94 acres and is located
south of Lee Highway and north of Industrial Park Drive in Lenoir
City, Tennessee.  It was operated from 1907 until 1985 to manufacture rail
cars and rail components.  Prior investigations determined that lead
and arsenic concentrations in slag and foundry sand would hinder
redevelopment of the property.  The proposed plan is to cover
contaminated areas with eighteen (18) inches of compacted clay and six
(6) inches of topsoil.  This will provide a protective barrier for
future workers on the site.  The proposal also includes deed
restrictions, monitoring and maintenance of the cover to assure effectiveness.
