Members of the Loudon County Sheriff's Office are looking
for a suspect in an armed robbery in Greenback.
The Family Dollar Store in Greenback was robbed at gunpoint
Saturday according to officials.
The Loudon County Sheriff's Department responded to the
store around 6:27 p.m. after a white male covering his face
with a mask and scarf carrying a pistol took several hundred
in cash out of the cash register, according to the police
report. The man turned to leave out the front door, but came
back and took several hundred additional dollars in cash
from a different location in the store, said LCSD Det.
Patrick Upton.
The suspect fled out the front door in an unknown direction,
Upton said. Several pieces of evidence were obtained and are
being sent off for testing.
According to Upton, the next three months will be a busy
time for thefts and robberies with the holidays. "This year
may be one of the worst years for robberies in a long time,"
he said.
