Asian Invasion 5

We now have a state attorney general opinion on the land sales to the 125 Chinese nationals in Hotchkiss Valley. Basically, as I understand it, the opinion says the new law passed by state legislators prohibiting "sanctioned" countries or people to buy land in Tennessee, does not apply to this sale because the deeds are all dated prior to the effective date of the new law that became effective July 1, 2023. These deeds will be grandfathered in.

My concern is, while the deeds were all dated prior to the new law, they weren't received in the Loudon County Register Of Deeds until August 2023, after the new law became effective. The deeds may have been purposefully back dated just to dodge the new law, who knows.

The map at the top of the page shows just how strategically located the Walton property is atop Black Oak Ridge, one of the highest points in the county. I also recently learned there's an AT&T underground communication line that runs through the property from Atlanta to Washington DC. Not saying there's something nefarious going on, just pointing out some facts.

Something about this whole thing just doesn't smell right.

Wait till you read the next story.
