Asian Invasion?

There's been a lot of news lately about the Asian carp invading Tennessee rivers. This story is about a whole different Asian invasion and it's right here in Loudon County and in the heart of Hotchkiss Valley.

You will remember last year, right at 400 acres of prime agricultural land in the Hotchkiss Valley was sold. The five separate parcels were sold in October. The buyer of the property was Walton Tennessee LLC. Walton paid $4,694,149 for the 398.78 acres.

Walton Tennessee LLC is associated with Walton International, which is associated with Walton Global, all out of Scottsdale, Arizona. A Google search appears to show some Chinese connections.

Loudon Stretch

Last week, the Loudon County Register Of Deeds office received, for recording, 125 deeds at the same time associated with the Walton Tennessee property. The deeds are considered "undivided interest" in the property. It appears all the buyers are from Hong Kong/China.

Walton Tennessee was selling 1,042 of the "undivided interest" in the property for $10,000.00 per share. They apparently have already sold 853 shares so far. Ten were sold for $8,000.00 per share. Some buyers bought one share and one buyer bought 200 shares.

According to the "Declaration Of Covenants, Conditions And Restrictions", the shares of the "undivided interest" can not be sold in the U.S. or to a U.S. person, page 330, Article B Section B3.

I have to be honest, I have no idea what all this means or what impact this has on the property. It will take someone a lot smarter than me to explain this one. Hopefully a good real-estate attorney can figure this out.

Over the last few months, Loudon City mayor, Jeff Harris, Loudon City manager, Ty Ross and Loudon County Economic Development Agency, EDA, director, Jack Qualls, have been working hard to figure out a way to have the Walton Tennessee property annexed into the city of Loudon so any residential development could be at a much higher density. The county would never allow that to happen but a good question would be, why would Harris, Ross and Qualls think an Asian held development like this would be good for the city of Loudon? Who are they actually working for?

We've heard a lot of stories in the media about Communist China buying up large tracts of land near US military and national security bases. I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but as the crow flies, the Walton Tennessee property, which encompass Black Oak Ridge, one of the highest areas in the county, is less than 10 miles from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Y-12 security complex and about the same from the Air National Guard base at McGee Tyson.

Before somebody screams racism, my concern here has nothing to do with race but everything to do with Communist China, a country that wants to destroy America, getting a toehold in Loudon County. I think Nashville needs to be aware of this.
