MADISONVILLE- A Loudon man has been charged with criminal attempted aggravated arson and 22 charges of criminal attempts to set fire to personal property after he allegedly tried to set fire to several cars on a Madisonville car lot.

Madisonville Detective Jeremy Harrill said Brandon Tilley, owner of B.T. Auto Sales, told him he saw Dennis Holt, Vonore Road, Loudon, attempting to set the fires around 12:45 a.m. Nov. 5.

Tilley said Holt fled in a truck and Tilley chased after him. Officers found both on Stinnett Road and placed Holt under arrest.

Harrill said a liquid believed to be gasoline was found poured onto 22 cars and at two of the businesses doors.
