In speaking with the county commissioner of that district, Gary Whitfield, the commissioner said there was no way he would ever approve the rezone request if it makes it to the county commission. According to Whitfield, that area is all agricultural and the roads are far too narrow for any kind of development such as a quarry and the residents there are opposed to the quarry.

The request will be heard by the Loudon County Planning Commission on May 12th.
