Just another in a long string of
public shootings. It can happen any time any where. But if you
find it necessary to be in any Loudon County or Lenoir City
government offices, you are not allowed to carry a weapon into
the buildings. Not even if you hold a valid carry permit.
This goes back to our now two former
mayors, Doyle Arp and Matt Brookshire. Both were rabid gun
control advocates who pushed for and got the gun bans passed in
their respective jurisdictions.
Now that Arp and Brookshire are
relics of the past, it may be time for the Loudon County
Commission and Lenoir City Council to reconsider their positions
on the rights of citizens to legally bear arms.
Gunman Dead After
Opening Fire at Florida School Board Meeting

A gunman opened fire at a
Bay County, Fla., school board meeting Tuesday
afternoon, taking aim at the school’s superintendent but
injuring no one before fatally shooting himself.
Clay A. Duke, 56, shot
himself to death after exchanging gunfire Tuesday with
Bay District's security chief, the Associated Press
reported. Witnesses say Duke may have been complaining
that his wife had lost her job.
Initial reports had
suggested Duke was taken down by a security guard, but
police later said the gunman took his own life.
Duke, who has yet to be
identified publicly, was barely alive when police
reached him, and he died from the gunshot wounds upon
arrival at a nearby hospital, said Ruth Corley, a
spokeswoman from the Bay County Sheriff Office.
School board spokeswoman
Karen Tucker, who was at the meeting, described a
harrowing scene.
She noticed Duke before the
shooting, and described him as being erratic. He engaged
in a verbal argument with another person and then,
moments before unleashing gunshots, he spray-painted a
red "V" in the center of a circle on a wall, possibly a
nod to the movie “V For Vendetta."
One member of the school
board, identified in local reports as Ginger Littleton,
apparently hit the gunman with her purse and fell to the
ground, but she was otherwise unharmed.
“He said he was firing his
wife,” Tucker told Fox News. He then fired one errant
shot at Superintendent William V. Husfelt, III.
Police responded quickly to
the scene and cordoned off witnesses of the shooting to
better prepare for an investigation.
The security guard, Mike
Jones, who has a history of heart problems, was taken to
an area hospital for heart palpitations after the
shooting.

I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs,
I am inadequate.
I don't carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it
meaningful to me.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and
too old to take a whoopin

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were
forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to
be destroyed by their own Government, a program costing
Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The
first year results are now in:
List of 7 items:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44
percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are
now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens
turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still
possess their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady
decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed
drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals
now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and
assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a
loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such
monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully
ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian
experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear
politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property
and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the
law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please
remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are
'subjects'.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America
because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun
control message to all of your friends.
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible
victory in defense. The sword is more important than the
shield, and skill is more important than either. The final
weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.
SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN! SWITZERLAND 'S
GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE.
SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY
CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!
IT'S A NO BRAINER! DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS
OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING
CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.
