Another Candidate

Tim Guider of Loudon has thrown his hat into the ring to run for sheriff. Of course that was for the 1990 election.

In the late eighties, I use to hang out with a friend who owned a print shop in Lenoir City. This guy, Tim Guider, came in to get political literature printed for his campaign. We all got to be friends and spent a lot of time there throwing darts. Tim was about thirty-three at the time and was going up against the twelve year incumbent sheriff, Joe Sims. I figured his chances to win were slim to none but I was going to vote for him anyway. I guess you could say, and the rest is history.

Guider has announced that he would be retiring at the end of this term, after thirty two years in office, and I think he would agree, it was a fast thirty two years.

Congratulations on your career and upcoming retirement.
