Another 1,027

On March 14th, Lenoir City council voted to rezone two parcels of property that will allow another 1,027 residential units to be built in the city, mostly apartments.

The first rezone is on Town Creek Parkway directly across the street from Universal At Town Creek, the new 265 unit apartment complex being built now.

The new development is called, Town Creek MF Phase one and two. Phase one has 222 apartments and phase two has 273. Both phases include HUD qualified units.

The second rezone is the former Loudon County school board property on Hwy. 321. No name for the development was included on the plat. The plan shows 124 single family homes and 408 apartments, 17 buildings with 24 apartments per buildings.

This brings the total of new residential units, approved by the city council in the last year or so, to 2,553, 945 single family homes and 1,608 apartments and rentals.

Apparently, the word is out all over the country that landlords can build anything and as many apartments as they want in Lenoir City.

Why do city officials want to do this to their city?
