| Friday was the first day for candidates to pick up qualifying
petitions for the 2014 Loudon County, May primary election. 13
incumbents have already picked up petitions indicating they intend to
seek re-election. At least three new comers have picked up petitions
apparently intending to challenge incumbents.
Mike Young would be challenging David Meers for Loudon's first
district seat "B". Matthew Tinker has picked up for Lenoir City's
second district seat "B" currently held by Rosemary Quillen. Quillen
hasn't yet picked up a petition. Marvin Stanley has picked up for the
fifth district seat "B" currently held by Sharon Yarbrough. Yarbrough
has not yet picked up a petition.
The county primary will be on May 6th, 2014. Candidates have untill
February 20th 2014 file their petitions to seek office.
