All's Well
| Over the last couple of weeks, several of us have
been in the eye of a political storm for daring to take a stand on the
hot political issue of homosexuality and it's place in our schools.
Last week I shared with you some of the vile and hateful emails, voicemails and communications I had received for taking the position I took. Others have also been subjected to the same attacks for their positions. What I haven't shared with you are the hundreds of emails, phone calls, letters and personal contacts I have had during this controversy who have been so kind and supportive. I would like to say to all of you, thank you for your kind words and support. There's no doubt we are still in the large majority when it comes to moral issues in our community. I guess we've been a little spoiled by living in a community where so many still hold to moral virtues and values. For the last two weeks we have seen a small window into how much different things are in other parts of our country and world. Don't know about you but I don't care for what I've seen. I'd rather close that window. Anyway, everything seems to have calmed down now and hopefully will stay that way and again, I appreciate all your support. One point of interest might be the number of hits to vanshaver.com during the last two weeks.
