LENOIR CITY - A Loudon County man remained hospitalized this morning after authorities say he robbed a Lenoir City drug store this week.

According to a Lenoir City Police Department press release, Aaron Cusick entered the CVS Pharmacy at 570 Highway 321 at 9 p.m. Monday, and demanded prescription narcotics Opana and OxyContin in 20-, 30- and 40-milligram dosages.

According to the release, Cusick then fled with the drugs on foot.

A Lenoir City police spokeswoman said Cusick was not armed.

Shortly after, police, assisted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Loudon County Sheriff's Office, located Cusick in a vehicle allegedly driven by his sister on Rock Springs Road.

Cusick was transported to the Fort Loudon Medical Center for treatment after he told officers that he had taken an undetermined amount of the stolen narcotics, according to the release.

Police issued a warrant for Cusick's arrest that will be served to him upon his release from the hospital, the release states.

As of this morning, a police spokeswoman said Cusick remained hospitalized.
