A New Philadelphia
Back in November Loudon County
was host a very
unusual
election situation down in Philadelphia. For a time it even looked
like the city might have to fold it's tents. But through the efforts of
several individuals elections were held and new officials were elected.
Now some of those new officials are ready to start making positive
changes in the little city.
Hoping to get the word out, new mayor Paul Stallings wants to let the community know of some new possibilities for city residents to get involved. The mayor stated that city officials are going to try to start a community watch program, a Volunteer Police Depart for the City and plan to have a large festival on Sept 5, 2009.
The mayor also says "everyone
is welcome to attend the town hall meetings they are the 2nd Tuesday
of each month at 7 PM. Everyone needs to plan to be there if they
care about there town and community. We also Have a Ruritan Club
that needs members and they meet on the 1st Monday of each Month at
6 PM. All the Meetings are at the Town Hall down town Philadelphia."
