News Herald Arrest Report

A Loudon woman was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a firearm at passing cars and at neighbors.

On Thursday, March 7, Officer Trey Clemmer with the Loudon Police Department received a call from dispatch stating there was an armed person on Steekee Street waving a gun around at neighbors and at vehicles passing by.

Clemmer and Newman gave commands to a women to show her hands and come outside.

When Clemmer arrived on the scene with Sgt. Newman and Officer Purdy and approached the house, they noticed the front door was open and loud music was being played.

While Sgt. Newman was giving the subject commands, he reportedly noticed she laid an object that appeared to be a firearm on a table before coming outside with her hands up.

Clemmer then detained the woman and reportedly noticed she had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage omitting from her breath. While this was happening, Sgt. Newman retrieved the firearm.

Clemmer then spoke with a witness who stated that the now-identified Anne-Lise Beerman, 50, of Loudon, was running back and forth from the porch to the mailbox pointing a pistol at vehicles driving by — and reportedly pulling the trigger.

The witness also stated the suspect had turned and pointed the weapon at him and told him that he needed to go back to his country before, again, pulling the trigger on the firearm.

It was later identified that the pistol the suspect was brandishing was a black Taurus .22-caliber pistol. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault.

Evading arrest charge After a swift getaway back in November, a Lenoir City man has been charged months later while at the Loudon County detention facility.

On Nov. 1, 2023, Investigator Caleb Green with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office reported witnessing a motorcyclist traveling north on U.S. 321 near U.S. 70 violating a so-called “slow poke law.”

The Law prohibits the operation of vehicles in the left lane, except for passing and other purposes, to interstates and multi-lane divided highways with two or more lanes.

Green conducted a registration check on the motorcycle which revealed that it its license was expired as of June 2022.

The motorcycle reportedly turned onto U.S. 70 East and then made a left turn into a residence on Hickory Creek Road. According to the report, Investigator Green intentionally waited until the vehicle pulled into the driveway prior to initiating his lights to prevent the possibility of escape.

Nevertheless, as Green turned on his lights the driver reportedly accelerated up the driveway, into the backyard of the residence and traveled behind a barn — making his way back out onto Hickory Creek Road.

Green observed the vehicle continue at a high rate of speed onto U.S. 70 toward Knox County. Green attempted to catch up to the vehicle but was unsuccessful due to the amount of time that had passed and high traffic in the area.

Green responded back to the original driveway to make contact with a man who was standing outside of the residence while this incident occurred. The subject was identified and Green then issued warrants on the suspect for Felony Evading, Driving on Revoked, and Expired Registration.

Nearly four and half months later, Sgt. Christopher Martin came into contact with the suspect in the booking area of the Loudon County Detention Facility and was made aware that he had an active outstanding warrant.

Martin verified the information using name, date of birth and Social Security number and linked the suspect with the charges.
