A Real Public Servant

It just never ends.

Back in September 6, 2021, the Loudon County Commission denied a rezone request to Cook Brother Construction for a rezone to construct nearly 200 homes in the Unitia community. The meeting was contentious, but in the end, the rezone was denied.

Fast forward, Cook Brothers sued the county for not granting the rezone. It happens a lot. Many times when somebody doesn't get their way, they sue the county.

What's different this time? One county commissioner encouraged Cook to sue the county. Anybody want to guess which commissioner it was? I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count.

Of course it was "luxury" realtor, Julia Hurley.

As the lawsuit progresses, evidence and information are presented to the lawyers. Some of that investigation revealed that Hurley sent John Cook texts encouraging him to sue the county. Think about that. Ms. Hurley is supposedly representing the citizens of the second district, and drawing a check from the tax payers, yet she's encouraging a developer to sue the county, which will cost tax payers thousands of dollars. She's a real public servant. And remember, she says she recruited Eddie Simpson to run against me.

Voters in the second district need think long and hard about who they vote for to represent them.

Below are excerpts from interrogatories and production of documents from John Cook.
