7th Lowest

Commissioners got some good news the other day. According to Loudon County Property Assessor, Mike Campbell, Loudon County has the 7th lowest property tax rate in the state.

I was recently reviewing the 2017 State of Tennessee Tax Rates by County. Simply based on 95 County Tax Rates, Loudon County is 7th Lowest in the State.

In review of City and County Combined Tax Rates, Lenoir City is 21st lowest and City of Loudon is 64th Lowest out of 425 City Jurisdictions.

I for one take great pride in the fact that we have been able to continue to hold our property tax rate to one of the lowest in the state even with the new 17.5 million dollar jail addition underway. That doesn't just happen by accident. It takes every elected official working together for such an achievement.

Raising taxes is always the easy route but keeping taxes low is always a challenge. Hopefully, we can continue this tradition.
