30 Years

Loudon County commissioner, Earlena Maples, was honored at Tuesday's commission meeting for her thirty years on commission. Mayor Buddy Bradshaw presented Ms. Maples with a plaque to commemorate her service.

Ms. Maples was first elected to the commission representing the 2nd district in August 1986. She was the first woman elected to the county commission.

Ms. Maples, obviously surprised by the presentation, gave appreciation to commission and especially to the voters who "allowed her the honor to serve them". Maples is the longest serving commissioner on the board.
