2014 Election
I know you're thinking, why is he bring up an election that's so far
off. Well, actually the election process is closer than most might
think. The 2014 election cycle is one of the big ones, county primary and general, state primary and general and city elections. Nearly all county elected offices will be on the ballot, county mayor, all county commission, half the school board, all fee offices except property assessor, sheriff and road superintendent, I think, general sessions judge and probably a couple more I've forgotten. The county primary will be on May 6th, 2014. What makes the election relevant at this point is that candidates for any of the offices that will be on the May 6th primary election can pick up their petitions beginning November 22nd, 2013. That's less than two months away. These same candidates would file their petitions to seek office by February 20th 2014. Later in the year, August 7th, will be the county general election and the state primary. Then in November, a little over a year from now, will be the state general election and Lenoir City, Loudon, Greenback and Philadelphia city elections. Next year will be a busy election year. Guess we better get ready to see a lot of political signs in the future. |
