1 dead, 1 injured in crash near Fort Loudoun Dam bridge

LENOIR CITY (WATE) – A 44-year-old driver was killed when his car crashed head-on into another car.

Lenoir City Police Department said the crash happened Wednesday night near Carmichael Greer Bridge on Highway 321(Fort Loudon Dam). Traffic was backed-up for several miles over the bridge.

The man’s passenger was taken by ambulance to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers said the driver of the second car was not injured.

Police said names will not be released until next of kin are notified. No other information has been released at this time.
