17-18 Budget Underway

The 2017-2018 Loudon County budgeting process is well under way and should be completed by the end of June.

Nearly all departments budgets have been reviewed including the Board Of Education. The BOE is not asking for any additional funding this year. The entire county budget is near seventy million dollars.

The good news is, there will be no property tax increase again this year. Even with all the costs caused by Court Clerk Lisa Niles never ending legal actions against the tax payers and the loss of hundred's of thousands of dollars in revenue in the settlement with Tate-Lyle and the in process fifteen million dollar jail addition.

County finances are in good shape right now and should stay strong in the future.
